We are super excited to use Achieve 3000- an innovative online reading program. Students are tested at their appropriate level of complexity and are given articles to read and respond to each week. Students choose the topic of interest and complete activities.
Students who qualify for reading and writing intervention will engage in lessons to gain skills and knowledge about various nonfiction topics. At home, they will be expected to complete two activities during the week. Follow the five step process each time you log-on. This should take 15-20 minutes. This work will count towards the reading expectation of 20-30 minutes of reading each night.
We are setting up many incentives to motivate students. Students will be expected to earn 1,000 points per trimester. With this incentive comes a reward. Each grade level will determine their reward. Look to your teacher as they seek to keep you moving along happily with this innovative program.
